Riso 102: Digital Techniques
It’s time to riso-fy your life! Learn to print full color photos, illustrations and designs with the faux CMYK riso printing method. Students will learn to separate their image into 4 color layers, showcasing the color blending capabilities of layering risograph inks. Students will learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and register their designs through the risograph machine.
This method is ideal for printing full-color photographs, scanned artwork (paintings, collages, etc.) and colorful digital illustrations. We'll use concepts of CMYK printing so this class is great for those interested in learning about basic digital design for riso printing!
Students should come to the workshop with a completed design file ready for printing. Finished prints will be 3 – 4 colors and students get to take home 30 copies of their work.
Riso 101: Analog Techniques
Are you ready to cast your very own riso magic?! Join studioSHIFT to learn the basics of risograph printing by collaging, drawing and other analog techniques. Students will learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and register their designs through the risograph machine. This class is great for beginners looking for an accessible entry into the medium -- no experience required!
Students will produce a 2 - 3 color print run of their design containing 30 copies. Collage materials, markers, crayons, pencils, washi tape, and printing paper are provided but feel free to bring any materials you’d like to create your design with.
Relief Printmaking 101
Learn the basics of relief carving and printing!

All materials will be provided, but we suggest bringing a notebook, pencil, and any source images you would like to use. Printmaking can get messy, so please dress appropriately!
